Camping and Survival Skills

As our society becomes increasingly technical and urbanized, more people are starting to feel the desire to escape it all. Outdoor sports allow for an excellent getaway from urban life, but one must recall common sense survival skills to enjoy the outdoors with no serious troubles.

More people are beginning to feel the impulse to break loose from everything, pause contemporary life, and regress to the ways of our ancestors. Maybe this causes the growing popularity of camping vacations, the highest experience of going back to nature and surviving in the wild, with just a plain structure for protective cover and a fire for fixing food.

Of course, lots of people don’t exactly do it that way. Camper vans are popular, and all sorts of electrical appliances have been adapted for camping - there are even camp microwaves. Most people consider at least modern toilets and showers to be a campsite necessity, regardless of whether it’s really true to the spirit of the outdoors. Camping doesn’t really have to be an outdoors thing if you don’t want it to be, as many camper vans aren’t that much different from houses on wheels, and many families stay in them for a large part of their holiday. It’s all about doing what you feel comfortable with.

For intense campers, however, the sincerest form of camping is camping which involves survival skills, including consuming wild caught food, finding your way around by the placement of the sun and building fire. You would have to be incredibly hungry to eat the animals that can be found in the woods of most countries, however, and on these grounds, camping with facilities and brought food is often more popular.

A staple survival instrument is a good flashlight. There are many newer LED flashlights which are quite bright, and long-lived on battery lifespan. Even more dependable in an emergency is a crank or shake flashlight which doesn’t call for any batteries, and which will always be there in a time of trouble.

Most campsites are in woods or open fields, and are often publically-owned - if you want to find one, they should be clearly marked on maps for walkers and on road signs for cars. It’s up to you what you take with you, but most people will prefer to have at least a tent, sleeping bags, torches, and either a tool for making firewood or portable oven where campfires aren’t allowed.

Sport Cards: At-A-Glance

July 3, 2009 · Filed Under Business · Comment
by Chuck R Stewart

When I was little, my friend had an affinity for collecting football cards and all other assorted sports cards. He would come in to my dads toy store and buy all the packs that he possibly could, usually buying out the packs that my dad had in stock. To this day I don’t know who he got all of the money from. I once asked him why he always bought so many packs, he said that he was searching for a specific card and thought that his chances increased with each pack he bought. I suppose all of his hard work paid off because he eventually got the one he was looking for all those years ago.

Football cards and sports cards as well as baseball and hockey cards, were often called tobacco or cigarette cards because cigarette companies would include these cards in their packs as a sales gimmick, placing their bets on the chance that people would buy their smokes at least for the cards if not for the cigarettes alone. A player, Honus Wagner is said to have the most exclusive and rare card. He was so against his card being sold as an insert in cigarette packs, because kids would end up buying them for the cards, that he ordered that his cards production be stopped. It did, almost immediately, and it is said that at the time only a hundred or so of his cards had been printed, making them extremely valuable.

Being that the card companies have to pay the player that they want to make a card of to use his image, they typically only select professional players to print. This is so that more people will buy the card, the ones with the more famous and well known faces on them, and the company will garner more profit from that card. Rarely are amateur players and college players printed on a card and only then by the college they are promoting or playing for.

Finding a sports card in mint condition today can be extremely difficult, even impossible. I remember that when I was little my dad showed me pictures of his old bike. He was very proud of it because of the plethora of sports cards inserted into the tire spokes on his bike. This of course damaged the cards greatly but was a very widespread trend. I remember him telling me that if he had kept some of those cards off his bike and in a case, he would’ve been able to sell them for thousands of dollars and sent me to college with that very money.

Since the opportunities for making more, different sports cards with players faces on them, is difficult, the sports cards market has begun to use pieces of game equipment, such as bats, flooring, jersey pieces et cetera to keep collectors interested in the ever-broadening market of sports cards that still exists to this day. There are also sports cards that feature the autograph of a certain player or carry a serial number, both of which are rarer than base set cards.

Why You Should Consider A Cellulite Reduction Massage

So you’re ready to hit the beach? Are you ready to show off your cellulite, though? Of course not! As summer approaches, everyone wants to get rid of their cellulite dimples. How can you, though?

Well, you might be surprised to learn that massage therapy is one option. Aside from just being relaxing, a cellulite reduction massage can really help you to lose those ugly signs of cellulite.

Let’s Take A Look At How Cellulite Happens To Begin With

It might be hard to grasp the concept of massage removing cellulite. That’s especially true if you don’t know how cellulite gets its start. Deep down, underneath your skin, are fat cells and connective tissues. Those are where cellulite begins.

The problem is that, as time passes, those fat cells get bigger and bigger. Things that contribute to that are toxins and waste, as well as a simple decrease in circulation that happens as we age. Meanwhile, the connective tissue gets smaller and smaller. That’s what causes your skin’s appearance to change, as cellulite dimples form.

That’s part of why cellulite reduction massage is so beneficial, as opposed to topical creams. Most topical creams and lotions only treat the skin’s surface. The root of the problem is much deeper than that. Since cellulite massage is intended to reach deeper below the skin, it can be much more useful.

Why Cellulite Massage May Work For You

It’s important for you to know that a cellulite massage isn’t just any old massage. There’s a specific method for it. It’s designed to be, basically, a way to help your body flush toxins from its system better. By doing so, it also helps to soften up and remove fat cells that cause cellulite dimples on your skin. In order to do that, though, it has to be a deep tissue massage, not a simple rub down.

Another thing that goes well with a cellulite reduction massage is the use of essential oils. There are lots of essential oils that can help the condition of your skin. A couple of the best are lavender and peppermint. They only work well if you continue to use them on a regular basis, though. If you do, they’ll help you to keep your skin looking healthy.

Of course, there are professional massage therapists everywhere. Many of them are capable of giving you a great cellulite removal massage. A lot of people opt for a more convenient solution, though. They use an at home cellulite massager, which is also great for eliminating pesky cellulite dimples.

Power Leveling Secrets Exposed

July 3, 2009 · Filed Under Computers and Technology · Comment
by Seth Symonds

One of World of Warcraft’s major challenges is leveling up your character. The top level you can get to is level 80 but this was not always the case. Until the launch of WoTLK (Wrath of The Lich King), the highest level attainable was level 70. Getting to these high levels is not easy, it takes some people many months, others years. People who practice power leveling are able to get to the maximum level of 80 in under 2 weeks.

If you don’t want to waste time on low levels and to jump right up to high levels, there are 2 ways you can do it. Firstly, you could use an expensive power leveling service (there are numerous providers on the internet), or you could simply do the power leveling yourself. In this article I’ll reveal some useful power leveling tips and tricks.

Network with some Higher Level Players

By playing with others who are ranked higher than you will let you cash in on much higher experience points. You’ll be able to get more XP points because you’ll be fighting much bigger and stronger monsters - something you couldn’t do if you weren’t playing with other high level characters.

The Grinding Method

Another power leveling technique is to work away grinding monsters. While some players find this boring and thoughtless, it is a quick way to get a lot of experience points and level up your character. If you can dedicate time away and are patient and persistent, you can level very quickly using this method.

Questing

Another popular technique to move through the levels quickly is questing. This is my preferred method of power leveling because its fun and you can gain a lot of XP points in a short space of time. It’s also effective to mix grinding into your questing to reap even more XP points.

If you get stuck during a quest or it seems to be taking too long, just quit the quest. You can do this by clicking “Abandon” from within the quest log. Slow quests are worthless to you when power leveling.

If you want to power level through to level 70 or 80 in the fastest way possible, you might want to consider using a WoW Leveling Guide. A range of these are on the market, some are better than others. Quality guides come complete with a range of tools including in game addons which take all the guessing out of power leveling.

How Many Dollars Are You Losing In Your Home Based Business To Your Competition?

July 3, 2009 · Filed Under Business · Comment
by Erik Monson

First there was dirt and then second came a home based business. They have been around for a very long time. They have recently been on the climb with the steady slip of the economy.

This trend is not surprising considering that many people are finding themselves falling short on the income they projected into their family budget. With job loss, reduction in hours and salary cuts, many are scrambling to find a way to make up the difference.

These new entrepreneurs by choice of the economy will find that the competition is stiff. There are more home based businesses now with less purchasing power to go around, making it very important to be smart at how they approach home businesses. Being able to accept all types of payment methods, including credit cards, will be an important part of getting ahead in their business.

Merchant services have been making it much easier over the last several years for home based businesses to accept the credit card purchases. One the first and most popular ways to do this wass through Paypal. Paypal, strictly an online application, was and still is the most popular among eBay sellers and buyers.

There are plenty of solutions beyond Paypal, many of which were spawned out of the shortfalls found by home based businesses that were not a strictly online business. Today you can find nearly all of the equipment that you would use in a traditional brick and mortar business for your home based business. From point of sale equipment (including wireless for you to take to those home shows) to software to pinpads.

Home business merchant accounts also can give you flexibility. If you have a merchant account in addition to Paypal and other methods of accepting payment for your goods and services, then you are more attractive to a wider range of people. I have intentionally not shopped some establishments because they did not accept the method of payment that I either prefer or the only method of payment that I had with me at the time.

When getting a merchant account, you will need to do your research. This can take some time, but it will save you money in the long run. Research, though tedious, will bring you the results you desire because you will be taking care of you customer by making it easy for them to pay.

You may wonder if this is all worth it. Is it really a necessity to accept credit cards in a home based business? Let me answer that question with one word ? impulse. We are all impulse buyers. When that impulse is gone, so is the sale. If you cannot accept the kind of payment that I have at that moment of impulse, then you will lose out on a sale. I am not the only one that behaves that way either. As matter of fact, I am with the majority. If you cannot accept my credit card, then I will go to your competitor who can.

How to Get the Most out of Your Las Vegas Vacation Package

July 2, 2009 · Filed Under Home and Family · Comment
by Amy Nutt

If you are headed to Las Vegas, you need to know exactly how to get the most out of the Las Vegas vacation packages you are considering. The better you plan before you go, the more fulfilling and fun your vacation will be. Consider these tips as you choose, and then use your vacation package.

Research Before You Buy

Before you even begin shopping for vacation packages, do a little groundwork. There is more to see and do in Las Vegas than you could ever do on one trip. Make a list of the things you absolutely want to see and do, and those that are optional. This will help you find the best possible Las Vegas vacation package.

Consider a Themed Package

If you know a certain theme that you wish to explore as you are in Las Vegas, consider a themed package. Perhaps you are traveling with kids and wish to see the kid-friendly attractions. Maybe you are traveling with your “special someone” and wish for a more romantic experience. A themed package will ensure that you see all of the attractions that fit your needs while you are in Las Vegas.

Shop for an All Inclusive Package

To make your vacation as affordable and hassle-free as possible, consider shopping for an all-inclusive package. Remember that all-inclusive may not actually include everything, but you can find a package that covers lodging, entertainment, and travel. Some will even include food vouchers. The more that you have included in your package, the less you will have to concern yourself with as you plan.

Plan Some Flexibility

Some Las Vegas vacation packages can bee too confining. If you have every single day planned to the letter, you might not enjoy your trip. Consider building a “free” day into your trip, so you can spend it however you wish. Once you arrive you might find that there is a show or attraction you want to see that is not on the schedule, and you will want to have the flexibility to do that. If you already have activities planned for every day with tickets that you have paid for, you are not going to be able to squeeze in those other activities.

Shop Around Before You Buy

Remember, a vacation package may be the most convenient way to purchase your Las Vegas vacation, but it is not always the most affordable. If you are on a tight budget, make sure you shop around before you buy. Check how much it would cost to get your lodging, airfare, and activities in the package compared to buying them separately from various discount travel sites.

Book Early

Some of the hottest shows in Las Vegas sell out almost the instant tickets go on sale. The best accommodations will be booked early too. To have the vacation you are dreaming of, book your vacation package early. As soon as you know your travel dates, get online and get the package booked. This is the only way to ensure that you get the shows, lodging, and activities you want scheduled into your trip.

A vacation package takes much of the hassle out of planning a trip to Las Vegas. With a little planning ahead and shopping around, you can get the most out of your Las Vegas vacation package.

How To Lose Arm Fat With Exercises - A Review

July 2, 2009 · Filed Under Health and Fitness · Comment
by Katherine Crawford M.S.

Walk into any gym, ask what are the best exercises to lose arm fat and you’ll get a different answer from everybody. Even the so called “experts” won’t agree.

What will happen to you as a result? A serious case of analysis paralysis. In this day and age, clear-cut information is more valuable than ever!

Well, the key to success is to take action as soon as you discover new information. This is called speed of implementation. The most successful people in the world have the highest speeds of implementation. So don’t get paralyzed.

Thus, I have decided to review as many arm exercises as possible. Today I will review reverse curls:

1. Quick summary. This exercise will do a great job at strengthening your wrists and making your forearms toned. But it does a horrible job at toning the jiggly arm area.

2. Quick-start technique: Stand straight up and grasp a barbell with an overhand grip. Suck in your stomach. Breathe out and raise the barbell. Then, slowly lower the barbell.

3. Most common errors. Bringing the barbell way too high which engages the front shoulders. Allowing the wrists to flex and extend instead of keeping them straight. And letting the weight of the body shift around the foot.

4. Bottom line: If you want the fastest toning possible of the upper arm area, you shouldn’t be doing this exercise. It simply puts too much emphasis on the forearms. You should only do it if you have weak wrists.

If you want to lose arm fat, do not get lost in the sea of contradictory information. I am going to do my best so that this doesn’t happened to you. Watch out for my other reviews!

Popular Home Treatments For Toothaches

by Ted Johnson

Your teeth may be so clean they glimmer when you smile. You may see the dentist on a regular basis. Even so, that is no guarantee that you will never experience the piercing pain of a toothache. Toothache pain is excruciating, one of the worst physical pains that you can experience. In order to alleviate pain, you need some insight into home remedies. This article will point you to the best home remedies for toothache pain, but remember the cause of the toothache should always be investigated by a dentist.

It is always important to get to the cause of a toothache. One contributor is tooth decay and cavities. These are created when we indulge in high carbohydrate and sugar filled treats and fail to adequately clean our teeth afterward.

A toothache is painful and annoying. It is surprising how common a problem toothaches are. A number of people all over the world suffer from toothaches at one time or another. These aches can make life much more difficult. Sometimes, a home remedy for toothaches is the easiest solution to cure short term pain. It will not cure the underlying problem, so you should still see your dentist as soon as problem. If you don’t, the problem tooth could get worse.

Toothaches can range from a dull annoying ache to excruciating pain. Toothaches are generally due to a decaying tooth or cavity. Toothaches are very common and anyone can suffer from an aggravating tooth pain. As you look for a home remedy, find one that offers quick relief. Just remember, it is important to see the dentist. Home remedies help with pain, the problem must be cared for by a professional.

The best short term toothache home remedy is clove oil. The pain relieving effects of clove oil can be felt within seconds of application. The easiest way to apply clove oil is to place a drop on a cotton ball, then apply the cotton ball to the painful tooth. You should begin to feel relief within seconds. Be careful not to allow the clove oil to touch any other part of your mouth. The clove oil is so powerful that it can cause mild skin inflammation. Other home remedies for toothache include icing down the painful tooth. This causes additional pain at first, especially if your teeth are sensitive, but it can be effective in numbing pain. Some people prefer to use garlic to treat toothache pain. I’d say, the undisputed best home remedy for toothache pain is clove oil. It offers almost instant relief.

Natural Treatments That Work For Cardiovascular Disease

July 1, 2009 · Filed Under Health and Fitness · Comment
by Lee Jacobs

Cardiovascular disease, as the name suggests, involves the cardiovascular system - the blood vessels and heart. Whether or not you’re likely to get this disease depends on several different factors, including lifestyle, genetics and environment. Fortunately, there are ways we can help deal with cardiovascular disease, reduce the chances of getting it, and even reverse the progress of the disease in people already suffering from it.

Some major symptoms of cardiovascular disease include tingling and numbness on one side of the body, difficulty with balance and walking, pain in the arm, shortness of breath, vision problems, headaches, dizziness, fainting, pale skin and chest pain. These are some of the most severe symptoms. Exercise and a good diet are probably the best ways to keep yourself from ever suffering from cardiovascular disease.

Oxidative stress and the presence of free radicals have been known to have an effect on how bad your cardiovascular disease symptoms get, as well as their development in general. One really effective natural treatment for this problem would be simply cutting down on or eliminating your consumption of processed foods. Avoid meats produced with hormone treatment or steroids as well, since they’ve been linked with a contribution to disease.

Choose a diet rich in antioxidants to help reduce the symptoms of and help heal cardiovascular disease. These foods include raw or lightly cooked broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes squash, oranges, grapefruit, apples, carrots, many berries, brussel sprouts, plums, peaches, grapes and moderate consumption of dark chocolate. These aren’t the only options, either - there are plenty of others.

Try to avoid foods with a high sodium content, since they’re major contributors to high blood pressure, which can worsen the symptoms of cardiovascular disease. Too much salt means that many cardio patients have a higher risk for hear attacks. High sugar foods also have unpleasant overall health effects.

One of the best natural treatments for cardiovascular disease is exercise. Aerobic exercise of any kind has been linked to a decrease in blood pressure for those who suffer from this disease. However, if you are going to exercise, you need to do it on most days of the week for no less than 30 minutes at a time for best results. You will be able to breathe better, develop more strength, and experience an overall decrease in cardiovascular disease symptoms.

There are a few things you can eat in the form of supplements to reduce the symptoms of cardiovascular disease, too. Try lowering your cholesterol levels and reducing the chances of hardening arteries with garlic, for instance, or try hawthorn berries for stronger heart muscle contractions and more effective blood flow in the coronary artery. Thing about taking a daily supplement of vitamin B, as well - it might improve your energy levels. Other supplements can also help with the health of your heart.

As you can see, there are plenty of natural treatments that have been proven effective for cardiovascular disease. Sometimes, prescription medication just do not do enough. There have been several dangerous side effects associated with some of the medicines used to help cardiovascular disease, which can cause people to develop worsening symptoms than with what they started off with. The natural way is always better.
