Most likely, you have heard about air purifiers before. Even though you may have heard of air purifiers before, it is possible that you may not know exactly what they are or what they do. You’re not alone - many people think they know what air purifiers are and how they work, but find they are at a loss for words when trying to explain to others. Air purifiers can greatly benefit you, your home, and your working environment, but before the benefits can be understood, you must familiarize yourself with the basics of air purifiers.

Air purification systems, also referred to as air cleaners, are electronic devices. The primary goal of these electronic devices is to clean the air in your home or working environment. This is done by removing harmful contaminants from the air that surrounds you. Air contaminant is another word that is used to describe bad air particles. No matter what they are called, they could be harmful to your health or to those who visit your home. For this reason, it is recommended that all homes have an air purifier in them.

There is a large number of consumers who should to have an air purifier in their home. These individuals may be those who have pets or who have in-house smokers. It has been said, and actually proven in multiple studies, that pets and cigarette smoke causes unhealthy air particles to form. With an air purifier, those particles will either be completely eliminated or dramatically reduced.

Along with those that have a house with pets or a cigarette smoker, it is also highly-recommended that those with allergies purchase an air purifier for their home. Air purifiers work to eliminate common dust particles, which is a common cause for allergies. As previously mentioned, air purifiers are also recommended for those with pets. In addition to keeping your home’s air clean, an air purifier may also help to reduce an allergic reaction to pets or pet hair.

Each individual Air purifier works in various ways. This is because many air purifiers are produced by different manufacturers. Each of those manufacturers is likely to develop their own product in their own way. Despite these differences, there are a number of different air purifiers that use ionizers and filters. These filters often filter out harmful air purifiers by preventing them to pass through the system. Essentially, this means that only safe, clean, and breathable air is allowed to pass through.

Take the time to research carefully when looking to purchase an air purifier. You will find that many air purifiers claim to be the best, but very few actually are. Although you may wish to purchase a low-cost air purifier system, you are advised to use caution when doing so. Many cheaper air purifiers are low-performing and the high-performing ones may need to have their filters replaced every few months. If this is the case, you will want to check the cost of replacement filters; in some cases the filters may end up costing more than the machine originally did.

How to choose Window Blinds & Awnings in Bedford & Milton Keynes

by Yager Blinds

If you are looking for blinds or awnings in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire then what are your options? Lets take a look and see if we can help you through the maze.

There are several types of window blinds and each has their own list of advantages or disadvantages. You will most likely be familiar with the options such as vertical, roller and venetian.

Lets’ tackle which type of blind you may wish to consider first. The most versatile and hence most popular is the common vertical blind. These allow you to draw the blind to the left, to the right or open them like a pair of curtains. You can also angle the slats to control privacy and light at the same time. By getting the angle right you can stop people seeing in and yet still allow light into your room.

The simplest blind is the humble roller blind. This is just basically a piece of fabric stuck to a barrel that you can wind up or down. You don’t really get to control any light though. Roller blinds are still very common and account for about 20% of all blinds sold.

If you are looking for something a little more upmarket and classy then wooden venetians are the way to go. They offer good control of light and give a room a warm feel. They are now available in cut down options which makes the price much more realistic. Beware of putting them in kitchens and bathrooms though because wood will warp. It is a natural product and this can’t be helped.

If you are in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire then you have plenty of places to buy a blind. I would recommend though that you call one of the choose at home companies. Make sure they offer a free no obligation quotation and have more than one sample book to show you for the type of product you want. These companies are very good value and you get a complete service all the way through the buying process.

Another option is to buy off the web, but this puts you in the position of having to choose from a computer screen and you do not receive any advice.

The best way of choosing and buying blinds is to call either Yager Blinds or Blind Inspirations. Both companies offer free advice, no obligation quotes and do not pressure you. Measuring and fitting is free and blinds and work are guaranteed. They also offer a price promise to make sure you can’t buy the same blind cheaper.

While recommending a product, Handing out promotional samples is very beneficial. People are already familiar with the concept of offering freebies to promoting your won products. However only a select few do this to advertise affiliate products. Try to offer freebies that can promote or even have some information about your products or services.

Before you go ahead and add other peoples recommendations to your promotions you need to consider other factors. it is given that you should try and test the product and customer support. Don’t take a chance by talking up goods and services that are garbage. Think back and remember how long it took to build up you’re credibility and trust with your customers. How to Deal with Male Competition when Meeting Women-I

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Relationships · Comment
by Vin DiCarlo

Have you avoided approaching a girl just because she is talking to another guy?

Or maybe you avoided approaching a group of girls with one or two guys with them because you feared embarrassment just because you ASSUMED that those guys were cooler than you.

Most guys shy away from approaching women who are with other guys for a couple reasons.

They assume that the girl is “with” the guy, and assume he’s her boyfriend.

This shouldn’t be the basis of not talking to a woman. Especially in a social setting like in the bar, where people meet other people. Plus - that woman is not a “slave” of the guy or a piece of property, she’s a human being and is free to whomever she chooses to talk to.

Approaching a woman who is “with” a guy often will make you look extremely confident, and draw out his jealous side, making him look insecure and weak.

The other reason guys don’t approach women with other men points to a deep insecurity based on a simple misconception.

Men tend to be threatened by other men, they assumed that the “other guy” is more cooler, stronger, or somehow powerful than they are.

This comes from an ancient survival strategy that had been fixed into human brain.

The social hierarchy is very subtle, and mostly unconscious, and it’s hard to tell who the more “dominant” person is in any given interaction. So when a male is confronted by another male, he doesn’t know how dominant the other guy is.

He doesn’t know if he will be embarrassed verbally, or as was probably common thousands of years ago, beaten up.

So it’s better to play safe by assuming that the other guy is a threat. Guys that were too bold may have won a few confrontations, but it will take a single loss to end up dead or exiled from the game.

And then their genes were eliminated from “race” so to speak.

Those guys that avoided confrontation and played safe are the one that can successfully reproduce and survive.

The irony is that nowadays this hard-wired survival strategy is the basis for most approach anxiety - men makes a false assumptions that will lead them to avoid approaching women unnecessarily.

Here is the thing, mostly when you see a girl talking to another guy in the club or bar, she’s not WITH him.

Usually, they JUST MET!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve approached a woman thinking she was “with” a guy, only to find out he was some random dude who just approached her. Or he was just a friend or relative.

I have regrets to those times that I’ve missed so many opportunities talking to a woman just because I saw her with another guy. And this brings me to my first point:

YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT HE MEANS TO HER. DON’T ASSUME THEY ARE TOGETHER UNTIL YOU SEE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.

You will know it if you try to act and find out. Just remember that in time that they are together you should be alert an respectful, the guy may be the insecure jealous type and may start a confrontation.

So use your head - just don’t limit your options by making false assumptions.

Many options are available for someone to begin to alter their lifestyle in order to live a healthier life. Some ways of doing this may be extremely easy and inexpensive while others may be more costly.

Someone can pay the health club expensive membership fees or just simply walk for 30 minutes a night. An individual can make an effort to pick healthier food buy an appliance that helps them prepare food in a healthier manner.

Such an appliance is a whole fruit juicer. If considering this product it is important to know what is a whole fruit juicer and the benefits that can be derived.

Any health-conscious person who is attempting to eat the right foods should enjoy the many health benefits they will receive from the whole fruit juicer kitchen appliance. To be specific, you can put a whole piece of fruit into it and it will be reduced to a juice for you to drink.

It is important to remember that there are some fruits which can’t be juiced in their entire form. Avocados, mangoes, plums, peaches and other fruits all fall into this category. These fruits contain large pits which will damage the blade in a whole fruit juicer.

Eat Fat - Avoid Vegetables and Fruits

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Food and Drink · Comment
by Michael Sellar

Most health articles and books assume human beings are all the same. Not so. We are unique. And yet we all get the same advice to load up on vegetables and fruits and keep away from fat.

Fat gets the blame for everything these days. Cancer. Heart Disease. Obesity. Rising fuel prices. Whatever. We should cut the fat and switch to carbohydrates like whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

Fat Is A Good Guy

Well let me tell you about a medically approved diet for some children. 90% of the calories on this diet come from fat. The kids are normal weight and their cholesterol levels only a tad higher than usual. These children have epilepsy and this diet controls their seizures.

A typical meal of chicken, carrots, double cream and butter might turn your stomach. But to these kids and their families, it’s just what the doctor ordered.

What, you’re not convinced? It’s a special case you’re thinking. It doesn’t apply to the general population. For the rest of us, fats are bad, vegetables and fruits are good.

Not really! Some nutritionists believe our most common nutritional deficiency is …. fat.

Saturated fat is often portrayed as the great enemy. The reality is that while it may not be the best type of fat to eat, humans are adapted to eat it. The real enemy are the fats that come from food processing. These foods give us far too much of the omega 6 and trans fats and far too little omega 3 fats from fish oils.

When Vegetables Are Bad

Glasgow University professor Kenneth McColl has given a warning that vegetable consumption could be behind the UK’s fastest growing cancer. He and his 10-strong research team believe that the three fold increase in throat cancers over the last 20 years could be down to nitrate fertilisers.

Buying organic vegetables is not the answer. The also contain a great deal of nitrate.

I could refer to all the naturally occurring carcinogens, mutagens and toxins that can be found in vegetables and fruits. But I’ll spare you that.

I could also mention those people that are especially sensitive to carbs. They need to limit how much fruit and vegetables they eat because they effect their blood sugar levels. But we’ll leave that alone as well.

I might even mention the many people who have a toxic reaction to certain foods. Even ‘healthy’ foods, like grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes, onions.

I could even point to people who have an allergy to aspirin. The chemical found in aspirin (salicylate) is also high in fruits and vegetables.

Am I seriously telling you to avoid fruits and vegetables and eat fatty foods instead? No, certainly not. For most people this is excellent advice. The point I’m making is that you are an individual. You have your own dietary requirements and needs. There is nobody on earth like you, so don’t let anybody else tell you what to eat. Get to know your own body’s needs. Listen to what it is trying to tell you.

Listen to your body, not to nutrition ‘experts’.

Motorcycle Helmets - Riders Love There Gear

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Recreation and Sports · Comment
by John Daniele

Have you ever asked why people love to ride motorcycles? It depends on who you talk to as to why they ride. There are many reasons that people get a kick out of riding down the rode on their bike wearing their motorcycle helmets. People of all ages ride motorcycles and both sexes seem to get pleasure from zooming down the road.

The idea that all bikers are in trouble making gangs is so old fashioned. Today even businessmen ride their motorcycles to work. Motorcycles are cheaper on gas than cars. If gas keeps going up more people may decide to switch from cars to motorcycles. Many very nice people ride motorcycles for recreation too not just transportation.

Some bikers like to ride for the sheer fun of it. They feel closer to their surroundings on a motorcycle without anything encasing them like a car does. They love to zip down the road with the wind hitting them on their bodies. Some of the motorcycle helmets are of open face design to where bikers can feel the wind on their faces too.

Women enjoy getting away from the kids when riding motorcycles. Of course not all the women that ride our mothers. The ones that are mothers though understand that the kids need them to be careful riding. Women ride with a high sense of responsibility to be safe so they make sure to wear their motorcycle helmets.

When looking for motorcycle helmets you will come across many kinds of them. Many makes and models are made to date. Some of the models are full face and if you don’t like those there are the open face versions. They are sized according to whether they are a man’s helmet, youth helmet, or woman’s helmet. Make sure you get a helmet that properly fits to get maximum safety protection.

Even though motorcycles are easier to park than cars they are harder to see on the road. Most people think motorcycles are easy to maneuver but this only happens at low speeds, at higher speeds maneuverability gets less. You do get a lot of performance for your money with a cycle but a rider still needs to know how to ride well.

The prices of motorcycles are so much lower than the prices of cars. They do have their down side though, you can’t very well ride in bad weather. You have to tune and fiddle with motorcycles more often than with cars so the expense can increase the longer you have the bike. The right helmet and outfit to protect the biker should be worn.

Leather usually as the material of choice for attire for bikers. Leather can be waterproof to a certain degree. Leather it is also tough enough to protect the rider in a fall at least compared to regular clothing. Kevlar is also being used now to manufacture biker outfits and some bikers are choosing this over the leather.

The mechanics on the motorcycles needs to be taken care of on a regular basis make sure you know how. This is really imperative if you have one that is getting up in age. Make sure you practice safety by adorning the proper helmet and outfit. You need to really have fun with your motorcycle. You will be able to do this better if you properly care and operate your bike.

Why Dull Kitchen Cutlery Can Wreck Your Cooking

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Food and Drink · Comment
by Robert Cooksey

A knife that costs a lot isn’t necessarily one that’ll do the best job. Knives that aren’t kept in good condition will be hard to cook with, even if they’re top of the line. Having the right knives and keeping them in the best possible shape is an important part of running things efficiently and avoiding accidents in the kitchen.

Every cook should have a good chef’s knife. A chef’s knife has a large handle, and blade that’s wide at the base but tapers to a point. These can be used for almost all your kitchen tasks, and it’s not really worth it to get a full knife set. Instead, invest in a single good chef’s knife that will hold an edge, and keep it good and sharp.

Remember that not all chef’s knives are the same. Their blades come in a variety of different size and are measured by blade length. Be sure not to get a knife that’s too small. In fact, the smallest all purpose knife you should get has an eight inch blade, not counting the handle. While a small knife might seem easier to use or safer, they often aren’t. Remember that you can use a large knife to cut up something small, but small knives can’t cut large objects.

A bewildering variety of blades will present itself when you go knife shopping. There are even a wide variety of eight inch chef’s knives, ranging between fifteen and a hundred and fifty dollars. If you’re on a budget, the cheapest knives may tempt you, but avoid them. Instead, look for a knife that’s about twenty-five dollars and has an overhang below the handle to help you keep it sharp.

Many people think expensive knives keep an edge longer. However, if you cut a sturdy vegetable, chances are the edge will need a touch up, no matter how good your knife might be. On a daily basis, use a steel for edge straightening. This is the long stick that comes with many knife sets, and it was traditionally made of steel, though many are now made of diamond or ceramic. When you use this, swipe each side of the knife down the steel at about a twenty degree angle. If you’re not comfortable deciding what that angle looks like, you also have some other options.

You can get knife and tool sharpeners that have their own built in angle, eliminating guesswork. With them, you can straighten a knife edge without needing skill. Just hold the knife with the edge up, tip hanging off the counter’s edge. Swipe the sharpener over the edge a few times, and you’ll get a much sharper blade. However, this kind of sharpener can reduce the life of your knife, taking metal off the edge. Still, a knife that’s sharp and lasts a few years is better than a dull one for a lifetime.

No matter how you decide to sharpen, be sure to wash and dry them both before and after. Once you get used to a good edge, it’ll be more obvious when knife are getting dull. It gets a lot harder to cut, particularly tough objects. If you want to test a knife, slide the tip of the blade along the skin of a peach or tomato without pressure. If the knife is sharp, it’ll split the skin.

Always treat your knife carefully, too. Don’t use a granite or glass cutting board, because they’ll hurt the edge. Instead, a plastic or wood cutting surface is preferred. Also, wash and dry the knife immediately after use to prevent a sink full of dishes from taking the edge off.
