Arthritis is the term used for over 100 rheumatoid and joint related diseases, with the most common being Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. The word arthritis refers to “joint inflammation” and rheumatoid arthritis is actually an attack on the immune system where the system turns on itself and attacks the joints.

What are the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis? In some patients with rheumatoid arthritis, chronic inflammation leads to the destruction of the cartilage, bone and ligaments causing deformity of the joints. Unlike osteoarthritis, which results from wear and tear on your joints, rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory condition. Because it can affect multiple other organs of the body, rheumatoid arthritis is referred to as a systemic illness and is sometimes called rheumatoid disease.

With rheumatoid arthritis, something seems to trigger the immune system to attack itself. This could happen after a sudden trauma or a surgery, and the severity is not the same in all people. Some theories suggest that a virus or bacteria alter the immune system. Therefore, since the root cause of rheumatoid arthritis is so different from osteoarthritis, of course the treatment and remedies are different also.

Rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed by a positive Rh factor, (a blood test), and x-rays that show rheumatoid deterioration in the joints. There are many different ways to treat rheumatoid arthritis, which include medication, rest, exercise and surgery. The medications fall into two specific categories, NSAIDs and DMARDs, and attempt to reduce the pain, swelling and inflammation. Humira, one of the latest discoveries, attempts to isolate the diseased cells so they cannot reproduce and cause more harm.

Some professionals also believe that rheumatoid arthritis can be caused from a trigger like an infection caused by bacterium or a virus in people that have the inherited tendency for the rheumatoid arthritis disease. Rheumatoid arthritis in a way, may be triggered through a virus, yet it is not something that is contagious and you cannot give it to other people, you cannot ?catch it?

Dog Behavior Questions - How Your Attitude Affects Training

If your dog training isn’t going as planned, you might have a lot of dog behavior questions concerning your pet. However, often the problems are not due to the behavior of your dog, but by the behavior of you - the trainer. When training dogs, there are a few things you need to keep in mind, in order for it to be a successful and rewarding experience.

Training your dog is one of the most difficult and possibly frustrating tasks you can undertake. The only activity that requires more patience is raising human children. Many people don’t have enough patience in themselves to train their dogs. Therefore, while you are training your dog, you may have to train yourself to be patient as well.

Be prepared to an invest the time daily at least half an hour but preferably an hour to developing the desired behavior in your companion. And when you feel you’re at your limit of patience whether at 10 minutes or an hour an end the session.

Strive to length that ‘time to boiling point’ a little an each day. Remind yourself you are dealing with a dog. Even the most an easily trained breeds or individual dogs an understand at roughly the level of an average two-year old persons. Of course there are those rare an exceptions.

When it comes to dog behavior questions, you need to go back to nature. In the wild, dogs are pack animals. Their pack has a hierarchy. The alphas are the leaders of the pack. The omegas are passive and often behave fearfully. There are also individuals that fall in between those two extremes. If you intend to successfully train your dog, you must be the alpha in your pack. At all points, you must be training your dog. Don’t let your dog train you. Even if it feels like that is happening, you must still actually be in charge.

When training your dog remember you are working with your companion. Be firm and assertive not angry or abusive. You are teaching you dog how to act towards others, including children and your neighbors. If you get upset and fail to be persistent you and your dog will fail.

There are dogs who are naturally easy to train, but not all of them will be this way. You need to have patience and remember that your dog wants to please you. Keep up on it consistently and your dog will eventually follow your instructions.

You must remember that when training a dog you must be patient and take your time. If you expect them to learn quickly you will be greatly disappointed. They cannot remember things as you and I can even a small child can remember more then they can. So remember to take your time and learn your dogs limits and eventually they will get the hang of what you are trying to teach them.

There are different factors that affect how easily your dog will be to train. One of these factors is breed. Some breeds are easier to train than others. For example, some breeds are energetic- such as terriers, retrievers, and Dalmatians- whereas others are more relaxed. These breeds include basset hounds and collies. Another factor is age. A young puppy is going to have a shorter attention span than an adult dog.

The best way to train your dog is by working with their unique personality traits. Do not yell at your dog needlessly or use strong physical punishment whenever they don’t immediately obey. This will not help train your dog. In the end, training is about building trust with your dog so that he will obey you by choice rather than through fear.

Summer is here and it is time to enjoy your pool. Biologics, rain and dust can make your pool pretty dirty if not maintained on a regular basis. Increased use means that you have to carefully monitor your pool chemistry. Using the correct chemicals in the right concentrations is very important. Prevention of problems is a lot easier than trying to correct them. Keeping good records and a routine that includes shock treatments at key intervals is very important. In addition you will need to physically clean your pool using your pool vacuum to keep everything looking good and inviting. Proper and timely cleaning will reduce the amount of pool chemicals and energy necessary you will need to manage your pool.

Most in ground pools have a skimmer located at the edge of the pool to remove floating debris like leaves and bugs. A pool drain inlet is normally located at the bottom of the pool and is used to remove dirt and waterlogged debris that has sunk to the bottom of the pool. When the pool vacuums system is running the skimmer and bottom inlet are feeding dirty water to the pool pump. The pool vacuums pump works just like your vacuum in your home. The pump creates suction that pulls the dirt to a canister or filter tank that removes the dirt and filters the water and returns it to the pool. A timer turns the vacuum pump on and off each day as scheduled.

Some machines have wheels for easy movement. Although the manual ones are cheaper comparatively, the automatic vacuums are an upgraded version and work faster. The automatic machines do all the cleaning and sweeping in and around the pool mechanically. The advanced versions work with the help of remote controls. It gives no trouble in cleaning process. It reaches to the bottom of deeper bodies and the sides easily. Investing in this important cleaning tool is necessary.

Several cleaning tools are freely available in the market but some cleaners are more popular and effective in use compared to the others. Vacuums working with suction action are one of the popular cleaners utilized to vacuum the entire vicinity. Beneath the surface area, the sucking machine not only absorbs water but also drags it to the filter area. Some of them act as good scrubbers, scrubbing against the walls while moving from one place to the other in the area. This useful equipment can absorb the debris found inside but not the larger ones. Large debris might get stuck and spoil the cleaner. Vacuums are the hardest working equipments that keep swimming areas fresh and hygienic to use.

It is a lot cheaper than purchasing expensive chemicals to bring your pool back into balance. Again routine scheduled cleaning will a lot to prevent problems. Then you can enjoy your pool knowing that it is a safe and clean place for your family to swim.
