These days, a credit card has become almost a necessity. The only thing is, now that I have cancelled my American Express credit card, I’ve lost access to so many things. I found I couldn’t join my local gym, order clothes over the internet or even reserve a plane ticket to New York, online, the basic stuff of life. The old days of cash as the preferred method of doing obtaining goods have gone.
It is a global phenomenon buying products or services with your American Express credit card without even caring whether or not we can afford them or even need them. Your American Express card may be convenient but there is a heavy penalty for buying now and paying later. Money owed to credit card companies is increasing everywhere. It is not a lie when I say the credit card debts are the biggest worry facing the people in America.
That is one of the main reasons why I had to cancel my American Express credit card in the first place. The problem was it was too easy just hand over my card and buy things without seeing the money being spent. I would charge everything and anything on it, and soon the costs would spiral out of control. When the debt became so great that I couldn’t possibly pay it, I began to panic.
It took a debt consultancy specialist to finally get me back into a position where I actually started to pay my debt off. The whole situation was a nightmare. Today, I am American Express credit card and debt free. Most of you reading this will probably think it’s not the fault of the credit card but you need to understand something fundamental about human psychology.
I was more conscious of the cost of things when I paid for goods in cash. Credit cards make it too easy, especially because you rarely look at the cost. I would just keep spending, not realizing until all the money was gone. I no longer have an American Express credit card problem!

Owing to this ongoing, worldwide research, we do actually know a considerable amount about cancer even if we are some way from finding a complete and consistent cure. Much of the world’s research into diseases is to try and find the reason why some people do not contract certain diseases while others do. We all want to know more about the causes of cancer what we can do to help prevent this illness from striking.
Over recent years, concern has been made public over the possibility that our dietary habits may be partly to blame for the incidence of the condition. Other foodstuffs that could create problems are too much salt and saturated fat.
Cancer can affect any part of the body from the bones, blood, skin or organs. nowhere is safe from it. Usually the cancer is at an early stage and a person may have a better chance of being cured. Although not it is not something anyone wants to be diagnosed with, cancer does not have to mean death these days, with the advances in medical treatment.
Advertising Should Create Sales
Opinions on Advertising are as conflicting as opinions on Religion. Forty per cent of all the people in the world are Buddhists, and are of the Opinion that Buddhism is the only true religion. Twelve per cent of the world?s people being Roman Catholics, are firm in the opinion that the remaining 88 percent are wrong, and sure of damnation accordingly.
Too many business owners seem content to spend their money on mere opinions about advertising when they might have invested it on facts about advertising. These are the Advertisers whose business must die before they can be convinced that Branding is wrong and reason why advertising is correct.
Do you No a company that would give a salesperson a commission over a report from him that he was “Influencing Sales” for their other Salesperson? They would expect him to prove he was earning his salary by making a satisfactory record on sales. That is just what the advertising employer should demand from his advertising expenditure, proven sales, carrying a satisfactory profit. And, if he insists upon it he can get the kind of advertising which will actually produce sales instead of vague “Branding.”
Because, true Advertising is only “Salesmanship-on-paper” after all. When it is anything less than Salesmanship it is not real Advertising, but only “General Publicity.” And, “General Publicity” admittedly claims only to “Keep the Name before the People,” to produce a “General impression on the Trade,” and to “Influence Sales” for the salesmen.
Bad Advertising makes the same lame excuses as a Salesman who failed to earn his salary in actually selling goods. But General Publicity, or any other Advertising, should be judged by the same standards as the Salesman is judged, viz., by the goods it is clearly proven to sell at a given cost per dollar invested in it.
