Global Domains International (GDI), Website or online business? In this article, GDI is put under the microscope to determine this question. Also addressed here is the cost of having a home business. Is it really worth it?

Having a hugeonline business has become a popular goal for people around the world. Often times this can be a costly thing to do. Some home based businesses can cost thousand of dollars to begin and operate. However, when caomparing the cost of starting and running a non-home based business, one can see that it is actually quite inexpensive.

Internet businesses seem to be the most ideal since most kids are already computer savvy and are familiar with many of the online social communities where they would be marketing their businesses for free, just as professional Internet marketers do.

It is often necessary to have a web site to use for promoting a home based business. Although you can obtain a domain name, web hosting, and get a web site with good content that will be effective can all be had for a minimal cost, it doea add to the cost of running an MLM.

Like many home businesses, GDI utilizes a multi-level compensation structure that pays residual commissions on the signups your child is able to generate, directly or indirectly, for the company through his or her online marketing efforts.

So, how good can it be for that price? You would be surprised to learn that there are people who make over $200,000 per year from GDI. I believe that the reason is that most people are not intimidated by the cost. At that price, anyone can start this business and build it successfully.

At an affordable $10 per account, the GDI business opportunity is a great way to start-up a family organization, but be careful, this child rearing technique can quickly bump you up to the next tax bracket before the end of the year!

How to Use Your Holiday Rental Properly

March 31, 2009 · Filed Under Home and Family · Comment

As a tourist, one thing that many people don’t know about is all the protective gear you need for rock climbing. In fact, most often when they purchase package holidays trips, they are not aware of what they need! If you are lucky, you will be able to get a great holiday rental price on all the equipment you need to go rock climbing; otherwise it may be costly!!

One of the most important things that a mountain climber will need is all the protective gear. Cams are one of the most important pieces. They are spring loaded parts climbers place into cracks and holes for protection against falling. Once they are put into the rock, they then expand by the pressure and “grab” onto surface. Also, they are available in many shapes as well as materials. In fact, some are long and thin where others are short and thick. However, they are all used for the same thing; to provide a “hold” where you can attach a carabiner. A carabiner is a ring that allows the rope and harness to attach to it.

Another important piece is a nut. They are small, usually made of metal alloy, and are in the shape of a nut. Cables are usually threaded through the hole to attach other equipment; often D rings are added. D rings are also another type of carabiner; which are extremely strong and can also keep you from falling. Like other gear, nuts also require proper training. In the training you will learn how to put them in a crack, along with telling if it was the right crack to put it into; which takes experience. The average price is around $8-10.

A hex or hexentric is another piece that is used a lot; which is called “passive” equipment. That means that a hex does not have a lot of moving parts and don’t change position when they get used. Just like the name, they have six sides and are barrel shaped; and are designed for being used in parallel cracks. The placement of the hexentric also requires skill to be used properly. Because they are needed in a climber’s kit, the average price is between $10-30.

Runners are also an important piece for climbers. They are short to medium length loops or straps made of nylon, that are used to put around a tree branch, a group of rock, or other permanent fixtures.

One thing that is traditional in the climbing gear is the piton; because they are what the hero always has in the movies. Pitons are tools that are spike shaped that hammers into place for a place for the rope. However, it may be very hard to free the piton once it is used! Pitons are also available in many shapes and materials; some look like railroad spikes while others are a fat wedge. The average price for the piton is around $10.

If you are buying the equipment yourself, it never hurts to buy a couple extra; especially if it could save your life!! It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Estrogens in Plastic Bottles: Are They Affecting Boys?

March 30, 2009 · Filed Under Book Reviews · Comment
by Phyllis Wheeler

The established American habit of drinking water or soda from plastic bottles is also one of the causes of a tendency of many boys and young men to lose their drive and fail to grow up. Leonard Sax, MD, PhD, says the synthetic estrogens found in plastics additives has been emasculating our boys and pushing our girls into precocious puberty.

In his 2007 book “Boys Adrift,” Sax describes five major factors contributing to what he calls a growing epidemic of unmotivated boys and underachieving young men. One of these five is environmental estrogens from drinks stored in plastic bottles, including baby bottles. Baby toys and pacifiers have contained the stuff too. What stuff? BPA and phthalates, used to soften and condition the plastic. Plastic bottles with recycling #1, used for bottled water and soda, are a key culprit.

Scientists are aware that the chemicals are environmental estrogens, and have focused on their tendency to cause cancer. Animal studies pinpointed the amount that would cause cancer in animals, and acceptable dose limits were created from those studies.

Sax asks the question, how does taking estrogen affect a male? In the past decade or two, many of us have been drinking our water from plastic bottles. In fact, the soda manufacturers switched from aluminum cans to plastic bottles. This makes us part of an enormous experiment evaluating the effect of taking estrogen on males. Sidestepping the question of whether it might cause cancer, Sax says he thinks it makes young males placid, and causes delayed puberty.

The plastics additives and four other factors together are influencing a generation of men who aren’t growing up, according to Sax. One study he cites found that, 25 years ago, just 8 percent of men between the ages of 35 and 40 had never married. But in 2006, that proportion had risen to 22 percent and was still rising. (New York Times Aug. 6 2006, “Facing Middle Age with No Degree and No Wife” by Porter and O’Donnell)

Other studies showed the proportion of men under 35 who never left home has doubled in the past 30 years. Also, 36 percent of babies born in 2004 in the U.S. were born to single women. That’s single women of all demographic categories.

Congress is somewhat aware of the threat to our children. It directed the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ban phthalates from children’s products as of August, 2009. This includes baby bottles and pacifiers.

But the Food and Drug Administration is the agency in charge of food and drink containers like water bottles, and it is choosing to believe the 11 industry-funded studies showing small amounts of BPA are safe. (There are 104 independently funded studies showing it is hazardous, according to Catherine Zandonella, MPH, of The Green Guide, an online magazine.)

A safe consumer will avoid plastic bottles, especially ones where the beverage has been allowed to get warm (allowing the chemical to leach into the beverage more quickly). The acid in soda performs this function as well. Especially look for plastic bottles with a recycling number of 1, 3, or 7. These are the main culprits. In addition, don’t warm your food in plastic containers.

The epidemic of men and boys who don’t grow up has four other causes as well, as seen by Sax:

* Requirements to sit still in kindergarten. Children these days are taught to read in kindergarten, at an age when most boys aren’t ready. So they begin to hate school.

* Video games

* Pills to treat ADHD

* No traditions for transition to manhood in our culture

If this piques your interest, you should read this book. Everyone should read it, I think. It was an eye-opener for me and will be for you too.

Online Press Releases and Forums for Chiropractic Marketing

March 30, 2009 · Filed Under Forums · Comment
by Matthew Loop DC

To get the most out of your chiropractic internet marketing, you need to start off on the right foot. If you sort of haphazardly think you can write some articles, make a couple of videos, and just splash it all on the internet, then youre in for a rude awakening. It takes tremendous skill and insight into internet marketing to really get it right, and the consequences of getting it wrong can be terrible. This is especially true for chiropractic marketing, so I recommend paying attention.

Online forums and online press releases are a great way for chiropractors to get into the online marketing loop. Forums in particular are a great way to brand yourself as an expert and chiropractic authority in your community and throughout the profession. The reason why forums are so powerful is because they create a lot of amazing links and passages to your website. When people read about your expertise, and are helped by your information in these forums, then theyll click on your link and go directly to your site.

It’s vitally important that your chiropractic website have a high placement on Google and Yahoo because masses of people go to search engines and look for specific services daily. It might as well be your site that is on the first page instead of the chiropractor down the street.

Its important to have a real variety of different marketing methods going online at the same time, because this creates the snowball effect that I mentioned earlier. Getting into a chiropractic forum is a great place to start and certainly a great addition to the arsenal that you already have. When you link a number of different methods, youre getting links to your website from all over the internet, which as I said, is one of the keys to chiropractic marketing success.

Now, any time that something great happens within your practice or you launch something new, make sure you create online press releases as a part of your chiropractic marketing. There are tons of online directories where press releases can be submitted. In addition to the world learning more about your practice, the press release is linked up to your website. As described before, search engine robots will follow that link and so will potential new patients.

But, this sounds like a lot of work, doesnt it? You probably dont know how to accomplish this on your own. The fact of the matter is that all this is simpler than it seems. The consistency is the key to starting a successful internet marketing campaign for chiropractors. But you dont have to go it alone! In fact, when you enlist a marketing director or simply outsource these tasks to a qualified professional, youre greatly increasing your chances of getting the marketing done effectively.

It’s better to have someone else doing the job so that you can adjust patients and leave the marketing aspect remain on autopilot. Chiropractors typically have enough on their plate to worry about. With this in mind, know that your business can’t survive unless you have consistent new patients and a stellar chiropractic marketing blueprint. When venturing into the online world, it’s even more important to have a seasoned game plan or you can easily make costly mistakes.

In conclusion, if you are not taking advantage of chiropractic internet marketing with forums and online press releases, it is time to get started. You’ll have something the “other” guy doesn’t and have the potential to become the local celebrity that everyone wants to be around.

What is Wii Homebrew and will it Void my Wii’s Warranty?

March 29, 2009 · Filed Under Gaming · Comment
by Callie Viljoen

Fellow Wii users as I surf the net and visit forum after forum I am amazed at the amount of questions there are regarding Wii Homebrew. Could this be because it’s a relative new kid on the block or is it because there has been such a big growth in Wii sales over the Christmas period? Or is it the financial meltdown that everyone is experiencing that is forcing people to find cheaper alternatives for new games.

One of the questions that are raised frequently is, Is Wii Homebrew legal and will it void the warranty of my Nintendo Wii. This stems from the fact that you most probably have heard of all the great features that this software will enable you to do with your Nintendo Wii. As most of us are law abiding citizens and would prefer not to install software on our Wii that will compromise its warranty this is indeed a question that you could have been wondering about.

Wii Homebrew is indeed legal and it will not compromise the warranty of your Wii simply because of the fact that this is software that you are installing on your Wii. This is definitely not the same as doing a hardware alteration as in installing a mod chip which will definitely void your warranty. The upside of installing the Wii Homebrew software is that it will then enable you to play DVD’s, MP3’s, older games that you have from the days of N64, SNES, Sega Genesis and many more as well as backing up your existing games. I must however warn you that although the installation of the software is completely legal it is up to you to stay legal by not making copies of your friend’s games as you will then be transgressing the law.

Another question that is also raised allot is, How do I install Wii Homebrew? Well that is quite simple, all you need to do is to download the Wii Homebrew installer software and install the Homebrew software on your Wii by following the easy laid out instructions that they provide. The next step is to read their clearly laid out instruction on how to use this software, and that’s all! You’ll be running the Homebrew application on your unlocked Wii in no time!

All and all I think this is a must have for all Nintendo Wii gamers, new or seasoned, that wants’ to play DVD’s, MP3 or older games on their Wii. To find out more about Wii Homebrew please feel free to visit my Wii review site by clicking on the link below.

Starting Flower Seeds Too Early

March 29, 2009 · Filed Under Home and Family · Comment
by Thomas Fryd

February in the North is an exceedingly trying month for “the home gardener” The days are growing longer and winter seems to be on the wane, but there is so little that can be done and there is a great desire to be doing something. Some gardeners just cant wait to get started and they do things that should not be done.

For example, there are those who make the mistake of starting flower seeds in the house expecting to get a head start on the coming season. In the North, February is much too soon for this. The germination of the seeds is not the problem; they sprout very readily, but seedling plants do not have good enough growing conditions in the house at this time of year.

When they have grown a few inches tall, they start to lean toward the light and soon grow pale, thin and spindly. What was started with high hopes soon becomes a great disappointment and usually discourages the eager gardener from trying this interesting and profitable adventure when it should be done, under more favorable circumstances and at a time when there is a very good chance for success.

The recommended time to start plants from seeds in the North is some time early in March. It is only those few who have home greenhouses who can expect to succeed with seeds started in February and even then advantages are gained only with petunias, pansies and snapdragons.

A very important point to remember in connection with garden seeds indoors in advance of the season is that there must be a good light, enough space and the right temperature from the time seeds sprout until the plants can be set out in the garden. Seed and fertilizer relationship is also another important consideration. A serious lack of any or all of these conditions, even for a short while, will be harmful.

Once started, plants must be able to develop under continuously favorable conditions or they will do poorly. Plants seriously checked in their development make poor specimens even if they survive until outdoor planting time.

Hansel and Gretel: A Storytelling in Arkansas

The story of Hansel and Gretel tells the tale of a brother and a sister who were forced out of the house into the woods by their evil stepmother. Along the way, they lost their trail back home and came upon an edible gingerbread house made by candies and bread. Hungry as they were, they began feasting on the house as the owner came by greeting them inside for more treats. The owner happens to be an evil witch who uses the house to lure kids into coming to her to eat.

The hungry siblings are attracted to the edible candy coated house and went inside upon the witchs summons. Gretel was forced to work as a slave and Hansel was locked in a cage to fatten up before the witch eats him. The story ends as the cleverness of the siblings won over the witchs evil deeds. They returned to their father where they found out that their stepmother died too and lived happily ever after.

There are foreign childrens tales in different languages that resembles that of Hansel and Gretel. Book analysts sometimes claim that the Grimm Brothers tales is just an inspiration of some of these foreign books. Analysts often commented that the story is very much reminiscent of the poverty stricken Late Mediterranean Crisis where kids are forced into child labor.

The tale of good winning over evil is well-loved by kids and kids-at-heart all around the world. The Arkansas Crafts and Fairs often feature this play annually at Springdale where talented boys and girls from the Art Center from the Ozarks are featured talents. The stage closely resembled that of the tale with its true to life gingerbread house and props.

Hansel and Gretel play is not just for kids but also for adults who remain kids-at-heart. Try to come by Arkansas early this year to catch a glimpse of the play and reminisce a past gone by, but not really forgotten.

what You Should Before Planning a Caribbean Beach Wedding

March 28, 2009 · Filed Under Relationships · Comment
by Irene Mmari

The world is a much smaller place today and this means that it is easier to get married in a beautiful location almost anywhere in the world to make a wedding extra special. Despite having a large country with plenty of wonderful beach resorts, this fascination with exotic places also fascinates Americans as well. They are also opting for far off places and favoring Caribbean beach wedding as an option. This is because the Caribbean beaches are maintained very well and this also happens to be one of the principal reasons why people want to spend their time in these islands.

Since the climate in the Caribbean is more conducive than the US, you can hold a wedding in the beaches anytime of the year you choose. Although this isn’t the only reason - you only have to look around you to know that the location itself is incredibly romantic.

To improve upon this further, some ‘all-inclusive’ resorts are now able to offer a Caribbean beach wedding at no extra charge as part of the package. If that isn’t enough, this type of arrangement also makes it easy for the couple to enjoy their honeymoon in the same place as they were married.

Usually couples are booked at a secluded and private section of the resort which is physically far removed from the guests who came to attend the wedding. In case you too are contemplating to have a Caribbean beach wedding, you need to consider any legal requirement which might be prevalent at your chosen location. It is important that each Caribbean Island will have a different set of legal requirements that couples will need to meet in order to have their wedding take place there.

In all likelihood, there is a certain waiting period before you can hold the wedding and a marriage license might also be required before you can get married there. The license fees could range anywhere between 50 and 300 dollars depending on the specific type and venue where the wedding is planned.

Also important is to be aware of any regulations regarding passports which must be valid before the couple flies out to attend their Caribbean beach wedding. If your passport is out of date or there is another problem with it you could easily be turned away at the airport.
