The Accessory That Speaks For You - A Personalized Money Clip

by Ned Dagostino

In the realm of gent’s accessories the personalized money clip stands out for its affordable elegance and individuality. The money clip is a purely utilitarian device to clip together currency notes and cards. It reduces the wallet bulge we are all so familiar with. But why stop at utility when you can choose one which is elegantly stylish as well? Whether you’re buying one for yourself or as a gift for someone special, you can’t go wrong with a personalized money clip. Selecting the right one is no problem because the variety of money clips is almost limitless.

Personalized money clips are available in many colors and sizes. Round, oval, rectangular, or square, plain or bejeweled, there is a personalized money clip that is meant just for you!

The basic money clip is a suitably springy metal plate which is bent upon itself to form a simple grip. The metal may vary from the basic stainless steel to silver and even gold. Even in its simplest form, the money clip commands respect, and when it is personalized it acquires the status of a luxury item. As a gift, a personalized money clip is always deeply appreciated.

The basic money clip depends on the spring tension inherent in the metal from which it is made to hold the currency notes together. The magnetic money clip uses magnetic tension to hold the money in place. The magnetic clip is made up of two powerful flat magnetized plates which are hinged at one place on their edges. You open up the two plates like a clamshell, place the notes and cards between the plates and then close the plates, letting the magnetic force keep the clip closed firmly. The plates are usually enclosed in a leather covering. The magnetic money clip is a conversation piece by itself. When the clip is personalized with the person’s initials or monogram, the value simply zooms up, up, and away! Very masculine, indeed!

The personalized money clip is very compact by definition. A hybrid money clip increases the amount of cash you can carry with you. It is a basic personalized money clip with a magnetic money clip riding piggy-back!

Not all personalized money clips are made of metal. Some are made of leather, and these are often called slim wallets for their close resemblance to regular wallets. Leather only serves to add charm to the handsome money clip. Leather personalized money clips are available in all the colors associated with leather - black, tan, buff, among others. You can put your mark on the personalized money clip by embossing it with your initials, or monogram.

The personalized money clip’s design ranges from the conservative to the flamboyant. You can choose the design that spells out your precise nature. A racecourse aficionado will get a horseshoe-shaped personalized money clip, a dollars-and-cents type will get one shaped like a dollar sign, a sports fan will get one embedded with his favorite team’s emblem! If you like novelties, you can get money clips with a built-in watch or a pocketknife.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for you can get your money clip made to order. There usually is a minimum ordering quantity involved for such custom-designed personalized money clips, so you’ll have to work out the economics.

The personalized money clip is a silent testimony to the person’s nature. It tells you whether the person is a quiet type or a go-getter, whether he likes to keep things organized or he takes life as it comes, a cool blue type or a passionate red! The variety of money clips is so vast that you can always find a suitable one in the price range that you’re expecting.

A personalized money clip is a great combination of style and functionality at a reasonable price. As an accessory it is very practical, as a status symbol it is very classy. As a gift item, it is the best choice for all occasions. Just take the time and trouble to select the personalized money clip according to the nature of the person you’re giving it to. Be on hand to see the look on his face when he sees that beautiful money clip with his initials emblazoned on it!

Engaging A Debt Settlement Firm Can Bring Debt Collectors Down On You.

October 30, 2009 · Filed Under Finance · Comment
by Matthew Highlander

Debt settlement firms call for a minimum of $10,000 in credit card debt. Of that $10,000 you have to give them $1500-2000 in upfront fees for them to settle your debt. To save money for a lump sum settlement and their fees, they tell you to stop making credit card payments and to give that money to them for their fees and for an eventual lump sum settlement.

So then what happens if they cannot settle your credit card debt? What happens to what you have paid them? What happens to the credit card account that is not being paid and to your credit rating? If they tell you they can get a 50 percent settlement on $10,000, how long will it take you to save $5000 plus $2000 for their fees?

$500 a month will total $7000 after 14 months of payments to the debt settlement firm. At that pace it will be over one year before $5000 can be paid (after $2000 in fees is taken) in a lump sum to end the debt. But, that debt may no longer exist because the banks charge off unpaid credit card debts after six months. Then within the year, they sell those bad debts for about 10 cents on the dollar.

What that could mean for you is a junk debt buyer has purchased your account for 10 cents on the dollar before it has been settled. Now, the bank has no incentive to remove their bad-debt listing from your credit report, a mark that will be on your report for seven years.

If you are prepared, you can handle the junk debt buyer?s collection efforts, according to the Credit Card Debt Survival Guide. But if you have placed your trust in the debt settlement firm, you can be blindsided by a junk debt buyer and threatened with a court summons and possibly even be served one.

So, the debt collectors are at the door. That debt is obviously not settled. The settlement fee is used up. Your credit is tarnished. But, you still have $5000, if, and a big if it is, the settlement firm put the money in a third-party escrow account.

Sewing Machine Repair

Stitching machines seem to be becoming more of a rare item in the home nowadays. Even fifty years back, having a sewing machine was downright essential! Now, many folks do not know the way to even do an easy stitch, not to mention how to thread the darn machine!

Due to their fade in popularity, stitching machine correct shops also appear to be vanishing from our districts. Sure, you can send your sewing machine away to the maker, but do you really want to attend a quarter to get your machine back? Or pay the high shipping costs if the manufacturer doesn’t cover it? Heck, if you send your machine away, you do not even know just where your machine is.

Sewing machines are relatively expensive, so it is important to have someone who is informed, particularly when it comes to your machine’s model, so you don’t get back a machine that’s more of a mess than it was before repairs. This is why when you do find a sewing machine fix shop, you ask them which models and makes of machines they’re used to working with. While you’re there, also be sure to ask for references ( try and get a reference from 1 buyer who has got the same machine or a similar machine to yours ). If the references check out positively, then you could have found your repair shop.

Try also asking any friends and family who own stitching machines and have had repairs in the past. You’d be surprised just what quantity of people know of a sewing machine fix shop which has done good work for them in the past, or they may actually have a chum who can repair it for you for a lesser fee.

Another neat way to find a machine repair shop is to perform a quick Internet search. Type in’sewing machine repairs’ and include your city, and you must receive several results. Try checking out your local yellow pages, too.

So what can you be expecting to pay for a sewing machine repair? It is important to understand that certain repairs have different prices, and of course the more repairs needed, the higher the cost. One good rule to attempt to follow is to try to find a fix shop that will work on your machine by the project itself, instead of charge you by the hour. If you’ve got a rather badly damaged sewing machine that may be considered a’large project,’ if you pay by the hour, you can pay any where from a 3rd to double the pricetag than if you simply paid by the project. These costs are another thing to take into account when locating a fix shop to help with your machine.

How are you able to prevent repairs in the 1st place? Routine maintenance! As with anything, the better you care for your machine on a consistent basis, the better your machine will stand the test of time. Your sewing machine’s manual will have correct care instructions included.

Will I Taste The Difference With Organic Coffee?

October 30, 2009 · Filed Under Health and Fitness · Comment
by Bart Forcey

More and more consumers are realizing the need to evolve with the times to get green smart. Growing organic produce is the ultimate starting point for such environmentally friendly projects, thus the increase in the popularity of organic beverages.

The largest producers of organic coffee beans are located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the African continent. Coffee trees grow abundantly under a tent formed by tall growing banana trees. This method of mixed planting is used to shield the coffee trees from harsh weather conditions while allowing the necessary amount of sunlight and rain to penetrate. The coffee trees are mulched and composted by mother nature via falling leaves from the coffee tree itself as well as that of the banana trees. Natural mulching and compost means natural moisture retention and high soil quality. For the organically certified farmers to comply with prescribed standards only natural, organic-based pesticides may be used.

Coffee beans enjoy a very large market share and are of highest value to traders with an estimated 70 Billion US Dollars trade value capacity. In previous years pricing had been manipulated and farmers were easily paid peanuts for their efforts and hard work, but with continued economic development, minimum prices for the beans have been set, counteracting the harsh effects of dips in the business cycle.

When ready for harvesting, seeds are carefully picked from the coffee trees as a tree produces a mere 2.20 pounds of coffee beans per year. The beans are soaked in water until no pulp is present around the seeds. The seeds are then dried in the sun and weighed. After the weighing, the seeds are prepared for their long journey across the world to various coffee drinking countries. The seeds are sacked and re-weighed where it’s then stored in special organic produce store rooms and safe guarded until auction and final shipment is done.

A downside to organic produce is the scarcity of the products. Organic foods have a tendency to be associated with higher prices to consumers due to the products’ steeper pricing in relation to conventional products. Prices are higher due to various direct and indirect influences such as low yields, higher labor requirements, business start-up financing and additional land needs.

Organic coffee farmers have to comply with strict International rules and regulations prescribed by independent organic organizations, Fair Trade and KNCU (Kilimanjaro Native Cooperative Union). Compliance with these directives entail recognition for producing and supplying high quality coffee beans of international standards, which in turn assist the farmers of organic coffee beans to tap into global markets.

Job creation for the community is another advantage of organic farming due to the intensity of labor. Participating farming communities on the African continent are reaping the benefits of growing organic coffee beans in terms of gaining economic independence, development of health care and education systems as well as building a positive future for their countries and families.

Boating Safety Information

Before you even consider using your brand new boat out for a cruise on the water it is in your own best interest to study a boat safety course and have a boat safety inspection to look for the mandatory safety devices. The US Coast Guard can provide you with a list of mandatory and suggested boat safety devices.

Life vests, or personal floating tools as they are formally called, should be easily available for each passenger of the vessel. They must also be conformed to the built of the individual who is meant to use them in case of an emergency. They must be in good working condition with all the straps and clips in place and usable. It is a great idea to have them fitted to the persons so that if necessary they can be worn without much further adjusting. In a number of states there is a minimum age for which the wear of a life vest is needed every time.

As a huge part of boating safety there should also be present on board a recently inspected fire extinguisher. It should be clearly marked so that anyone can spot it if needed and reach for it quickly. There are varied types of fire extinguishers, designed to put out different kinds of fires. For boating safety it is advisable to get a Type B or C fire extinguisher, these are designed for putting out fires started or fuelled by oil, grease and gas, or electrical fires.

As a last factor of boating safety, particularly for boats with gasoline engines and particularly when the engine is mounted in the boat, great wind circulation is vital.

Not only to avoid any build up of carbon monoxide, threatening the crew with poisoning, but also to prevent gasoline fumes from building up and becoming a serious fire hazard.

Dealing With Your Ingrown Hair

October 29, 2009 · Filed Under Health and Fitness · Comment
by Mike Jones

Ingrown hair is a condition where the hair on the body or face curls back around and grows into the skin. This problem can affect women and men but is most commonly found in men with curly hair.

When shaving you should be careful not to shave too close as this can cause ingrown hair. Ingrown hair can also be caused by plucking, waxing, and tweezing. If you get a build up in your pores of oil and dead skin cells the skin can become irritated and cause ingrown hairs.

To prevent ingrown hair there are some techniques that can be used. First of all you will need to wash the area to be shaved before you begin. Once you are done make sure to put lotion or aftershave on the shaved area. Another technique is to let the hair grow a little longer than usual and pluck the hair with a special pair of tweezers.

When you are waxing you need to make sure you pull the root out and that the hair does not break off. You should also keep your skin moisturized and exfoliated. Of course this is not to say that it can not still happen but it will lessen the chances of it.

Ingrown hairs are very bothersome to say the least. When dealing with an ingrown hair you could have tenderness of the area, itching, tingling, and even some pain. Scarring can also become a problem. Once infected a blister of puss will form and if this blister bursts it may cause scarring.

You can try a home remedy that uses a potato pealing to draw the hair out faster. You place the potato raw side on the area and tape it down for about a day. When you remove the potato you will want to disinfect your skin. This home remedy is used to speed up the healing process.

You could skip that process and just try to lift the ingrown end out of your skin with a pair of tweezers. You should be careful not to pluck the hair out though because it would probably grow back into your skin much deeper than before. You should check with your physician if you are getting ingrown hairs on a regular basis. Although it is not a serious problem it can be a very painful.

Anger Management Total Program

October 29, 2009 · Filed Under Self Improvement · Comment
by Randy Roedl

Anger is inescapable amid us. Accurate enough, but whenever one isn’t experiencing some angriness toward awful experiences or issues, then the person isn’t conceived as a average human being. Emotionally everybody ought to experience the adrenaline charge like sensation if they’re bullied, abused, lectured, feeling blue, and having a unsound mood. To demonstrate your anger is an easy job, as most of us will automatically do that prior to acknowledging it.

Showing your angry side is easy as it is almost done automatically, how about hiding it? It is not that easy, unless you really know how to manage your anger properly. It is not an easy task for everyone. Some people may find it hard at the beginning but manage to cope it later in their life; some find it easy at first as they are good in toleration and perseverance. There are also some cases where people cannot even manage their anger at all, and ended up being sent to counselor, or locked up after doing something stupid out in the public.

So, how do we manage our temper? Anger management is all about relaxing yourself. There are many ways in diverting your angry mood away. Using ways that are proven by doctors or psychiatrists actually helps you curb your current anger issues, and also towards those that may happen in the near future.

Learn how to deal with your anger is a core subject to curbing your angry mood down. Anger can be suppressed, converted or diverted to other forms of energies. Knowing your limit is important in order to gauge your anger limits. Some people did it the wrong way of mild relaxation which appears to be wrong because he or she has a very angry side when they are stepped on the tail. Express your anger in a low or moderate level is another good way to suppress your anger level; at least you are not firing all your anger away which is quite bombastic compared to others.

Terminating the anger that has been together with you for long is not an easy task though. For instance, Madam Smith has her experience of being a disciplinary teacher in her local high school. Everyday she carries a face of steel and her job is to scold those kids who do not do good behaving themselves in the school. Coming to the end of the day, she also disciplines her children the same way she teaches her students in school. This effort is hard to curb in one shot, however can be done correctly if she is taught to think in a different perspective, reverse thinking, and learning to be different from what she was previously.

Rest is one of the most effective anger management methods. This isn’t just a manner to enjoy a nice pampering treat to yourself, but also an effective way to treat your short and minor anger- temporarily. Relaxing can help to curb anger but not for the serious types. Light matters or problems within you for instance being neglected by your teacher for not viewing your work. You may have this passive anger inside you that puts yourself down, but a good treat with something that you like to do, like a trip off to the beach for the sun tan you wished, is a good way to make you forget what has happened.

They say better prevent than cure. This is a good quote by doctors, and also psychiatrists. Preventing yourself from getting angry is a good way to manage your volcanic action of anger bursting out inside of you. Learn better communication skills will keep you out of trouble whenever someone or something sparks your little devil inside you. Learn how to think before reacting is good enough to avoid bursting yourself uncontrollably, as it keeps yourself cool and steady to think of a way to solve the problem in a more civilized way, protecting your overall image too.

Last however not least, always have it in mind that anger within you is not a good thing to have. Making yourself angry in the public will just scare people away from approaching you, losing friends, family members, or employers. Learn to tolerate small events with a big heart, keeping the annoying and ugly angry you out of the picture.

Can Dogs Get Diabetes - What Are the Symptoms of a Dog With Diabetes

October 29, 2009 · Filed Under Pets · Comment
by Barb Hicks

Did you know that your dog is susceptible to getting diabetes? Its true. Older dogs are found to be at increased risk, as well as certain breeds, such as Poodles, Old English Sheepdogs, Golden Retrievers, Daschunds, Miniature Pinscher, Schnauzer and Beagles.

Diabetes is characterized by the non production of insulin and high glucose levels. In order to remedy this, insulin must be administered. There is insulin produced which is specifically for canine use.

Two forms of Diabetes:

Diabetes Insipidus: Is the lack of the anti-diuretic hormone called Vasopressin. Vasopressin controls how the kidneys absorb water.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM): Is insulin insufficiency. It is the most common and the most dangerous for dogs.

Diabetes is comprised of two types:

Type 1 - Is insulin dependent diabetes. The pancreas is not making insulin at all. Type 1 is seen mostly in younger dogs.

Type 2 - Is non insulin dependent diabetes. The pancreas is making insulin but the body is resistant to it. This type is mostly seen in older dogs.

Bigger dogs have a higher risk for diabetes than smaller dogs. It is also an autoimmune disease that dogs can inherit from their parents.

Symptoms:

You may notice that your dog is:

Eating more Drinking more Weighing less Diagnostic Testing:

If you believe your dog is exhibiting signs of diabetes, it is very important to seek the assistance of a local veterinarian. The veterinarian will perform blood tests to check glucose levels as well as a urinalysis to look for kidney function and the possibility of a urinary tract infection. If a positive diagnosis for diabetes is found, you will have to make changes to your dog’s diet as well as implement a daily exercise regimen. These steps will help alleviate symptoms of the disease as well as aid in preventing possible future complications.

Treatment:

The most common form of treatment is to place your pet in a high fiber and protein diet. Fats and carbohydrates will no longer be allowed. This may require you to feed your dog prepared meals. If you feed your dog at the same time every day, this will help keep your dog’s glucose levels in normal range. If insulin is required, it is given after meals. It is very important to note that you must allow your dog to have all the water they want.

Exercise:

Regular daily exercise at the same time each day helps to keep blood glucose down, thus preventing a detrimental effect of up and down glucose levels. Glucose needs to be consistently within normal levels.

Hormonal changes in your female dog put her at higher risk for diabetes. Consider having her spayed to prevent any undue complications of diabetes.
